USING TEXT.LY
Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of text.ly, its ChatGPT integration, and the related text.email account and messaging services used to provide text.ly (the “Service”). The Service is operated by GMass, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Your agreement and eligibility
By accepting these Terms or using the Service after these Terms have been presented to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. These Terms do not replace the separate terms of ChatGPT, Apple, your mobile carrier, your email provider, or other third-party services.
2. What the Service does
text.ly lets supported clients, including ChatGPT, request that messages be sent through your account using SMS, MMS, or iMessage where supported. Availability depends on your account, message type, recipient, sending route, providers, and applicable restrictions. SMS is the default when no message type is specified.
Access may be limited during private preview. Creating an account does not guarantee access to the ChatGPT plugin or any particular feature. The Service currently sends requests when received; it does not provide its own future-message scheduling. If another product schedules a later request, that product is responsible for initiating it.
3. Accounts and connected applications
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and API keys, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and for configuring your connected applications appropriately.
Connecting ChatGPT grants the permission described on the authorization screen. It does not mean every later send will require a separate approval prompt. Review your client's permission settings and the recipient and message before authorizing a send. You can revoke connections and API keys in account Settings. Revocation prevents future use of that credential but does not recall delivered messages or cancel requests already accepted or queued.
4. Permission to message recipients
Only send messages you are authorized to send to recipients who have provided any consent required by applicable law and provider rules. You are responsible for the message, recipient number, required disclosures, records of consent where needed, and honoring opt-out requests. Permission to connect your own account to ChatGPT is not the recipient's consent to receive messages.
If a recipient asks you to stop, stop messaging them. Do not assume that every sending route supports replies or automatically processes a STOP reply. Maintain an appropriate way for recipients to contact you and honor requests received through any applicable channel. Message and data charges may apply under the recipient's carrier plan.
5. Acceptable use
The Service is intended for legitimate personal messages, alerts, and notifications. Messages are subject to screening, carrier rules, and provider restrictions. You must not:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, unauthorized marketing, scams, phishing, impersonation, threats, harassment, or unlawful content.
- Contact recipients without required permission or continue after an applicable opt-out.
- Send content that infringes another person's rights, or disclose personal information you have no right to share.
- Evade screening, account restrictions, sending limits, carrier blocks, or duplicate-prevention controls; use anonymous tests to bypass an account requirement; or use another person's credentials without permission.
- Disrupt the Service, probe or exploit systems without authorization, introduce malicious code, or misrepresent the origin of a message.
Do not use the Service for emergency communications or as the sole means of delivering safety-critical notices. Avoid sending passwords, full payment-card details, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary texts or public tests.
6. Your content
You retain your rights in content you submit. You grant us and the providers involved in operating the Service the limited permission needed to process, screen, store, transmit, and deliver that content, provide support, and satisfy legal obligations. This permission is limited to those purposes and does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
Anonymous testing on text.email can display message excerpts and partially masked sending details in a public demonstration log. Use only non-sensitive test content. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. Delivery and AI limitations
A request marked “accepted” or “queued” is not proof of delivery or that a recipient has read it. Messages may be delayed, blocked, altered by delivery systems, split into multiple segments, or fail. Sending numbers, formatting, and supported media may vary by route.
AI clients and automated screening can make mistakes, including choosing the wrong content or recipient, rejecting a legitimate message, or misinterpreting a request. Review the details that matter before sending. Once sent, a message generally cannot be recalled.
When retrying an API request, reuse its original idempotency key. A new key can create a new send. Duplicate prevention reduces retry-related duplicates but is not a guarantee against every possible duplicate, provider error, or client mistake.
8. Fees, renewals, and cancellation
Your use is subject to the pricing, allowance, credits, billing interval, and any automatic top-up terms shown when you choose or purchase a plan. A message may consume more than one unit depending on its length, type, and the plan rules. Your ChatGPT subscription does not include text.ly or text.email messaging charges.
Recurring subscriptions renew according to the terms presented at checkout unless canceled. Use the subscription page to request cancellation and check the confirmed end date. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal rather than reversing the current billing period. For a prepaid Low Use Plan with automatic top-ups, contact support to stop top-ups; canceling a recurring subscription is a different action.
Contact support about billing errors or refund requests. These Terms do not limit refund or cancellation rights required by law. Any price or billing changes will be disclosed before they apply, with any notice or consent required by law.
9. Restrictions, suspension, and termination
We may reject or limit messages, suspend credentials or an account, or terminate access when reasonably needed to address misuse, security risks, nonpayment, legal requirements, provider restrictions, or violations of these Terms. We may act promptly where delay would create a risk. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken.
You may stop using the Service, revoke access, cancel applicable billing arrangements, and request account deletion. These are separate steps; disconnecting ChatGPT does not itself cancel billing or delete your account. Provisions that by their nature apply after termination, including accrued payment obligations and applicable limitations of liability, continue to apply.
10. Availability and warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, delivery, a particular delivery time, or continued availability of a third-party integration. Features may change or be discontinued, subject to applicable obligations to paying customers.
11. Limits on liability
To the extent permitted by law, GMass, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data arising from use of the Service. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limit mandatory consumer rights. They do not apply to our fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where exclusion would be unlawful.
12. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms and will identify the updated date. For material changes, we will provide appropriate notice before they apply and obtain renewed agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively alter accrued rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
The text.ly name and our software, designs, and other service materials remain ours or our licensors'. References to ChatGPT, OpenAI, Apple, or other third parties identify compatible services and do not imply that those companies operate or endorse text.ly.
13. Contact and disputes
For questions, complaints, or an attempt to resolve a dispute, contact ajay.goel@text.email. This contact process does not restrict your right to pursue available legal remedies or contact a regulator.
